Mary Krejci, Music Teacher
I have always enjoyed Music, from singing with my father as a child, to choirs and choruses in High School. In 1982, I took a more serious direction with private vocal lessons and lessons in Musical Direction. Along with this education came a great need to understand the History of Western Music, which is my “forte”. In 1987, with my husband George, I began to work in the Cleveland Diocese as a Director of Music and Choir Director. To further my work in the Catholic Church, I studied at Notre Dame College with an emphasis on Liturgy, and attended Liturgical Conferences at University of Notre Dame from 1990 through 2001. I began to learn guitar during this time, taking lessons from 1988 to 1991, and using my skills as part of my work in the churches. I continued working at parishes in Cleveland Diocese and the schools connected with the parishes, forming both Adult and Children’s choirs, as a Parish Liturgist, participating in special chorales with the Diocese for such events as Ordination Masses, Billy Graham Crusade, and as a Director for the choir for Bishop Pilla as he traveled for various special celebrations.
In 2008, with my husband, George, I became the Director of Music at Immaculate Conception. I have worked with the children in our school since the fall of 2008, and have enjoyed every minute of teaching our children about the joys of music.
My husband and I have been married for 42 years; we have 3 children, Jenn, Bill and Tom. We have 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Our family is the love of our lives.
